Sipadan
"I have seen other places like Sipadan, 45 years ago, but now, no more. Now, we have found again an untouched piece of art..." - Jacques Cousteau
The world famous walls of Sipadan attract huge amounts of life - nowhere else in the world can you see so much marine life in such a small area. 'The Drop Off' harbours huge schools of jackfish in the shallows and is the site of the mysterious 'Turtle Tomb'. The sheer walls of the 'Hanging Gardens' drop vertically to over 600m in depths and are decorated in sea fans and soft corals. However, it is the current-swept points that attract the most life. 'South Point' has plenty of whitetip sharks, fusiliers and turtle cleaning stations and being exposed to open ocean, the opportunity to spot the occasional pelagic visitor like a hammerhead or manta ray. 'Barracuda Point' has huge schools of jackfish, batfish and barracuda, turtles everywhere, grey and whitetip sharks and herds of bumphead parrotfish, all living amidst stunning corals. Sipadan STILL ranks as one the top 5 destinations in the world to dive...
