Thank you for your interest in diving the Graveyard of the Atlantic with Discovery Diving Company.
All of our trips are designed to make two dives. On regular day trips we dive a deep wreck first and then a shallower wreck on the way back to the dock.
On half day trips we do two back to back 25 minute dives on the same wreck.
Three charter boats are currently operating exclusively through Discovery Diving Company, a six passenger, and two (16) passenger. We run charters with a minimum of four people and can handle just about any size group. If you have less than four people or are by yourself, we generally have little trouble placing you on scheduled charters.
Our best diving season is May through October during which time the water temperature reaches the low 80's and we frequently have over 100 feet of visibility. Our winter season starts in November and runs through April. Water temperatures drop to the low 50's inshore and low 60's offshore by February. The visibility actually increases during the winter, but the sea conditions are unstable due to winter storms.
We have two Diver's Lodges (for groups) , adjacent to the store. They can each house at least 22 people. Each lodge has at least three bathrooms, and a full kitchen. Bed linens are available at a minimum fee and cooking utensils are provided. The lodges are within walking distance of restaurants, night spots and sight seeing in historic Beaufort. There are also numerous motels within a five mile radius of the store.
Please bring with you any food or drinks you may desire during the trip as we do not provide these items. However, our boats are equipped with coolers for your convenience. Beer, soft drinks, ice and snacks are available for purchase at Discovery Diving Company.
Charters will leave at 7:45 a.m. However, to facilitate afternoon charters, charters will depart at 6:45 a.m. on the weekends. May 15 thru September 15.
