Going to Cuba with a U.S.Government Blessing
Going to Cuba with a blessing from the U.S.Government
is actually
encouraged. President Bill Clinton has increased
humanitarian aid and information
flow to Cuba. We have received
a letter from the President that
says,"we seek to relieve the
suffering of Cubans by facilitating
donations of food and medicines
to non-governmental
organizations and individuals in
Cuba.
Michael M.Skol the
administration's top man on
Cuba, has said,"The allegations
that United States in some way
prevents medicine from getting
to the Cuban people is simply
not true." He goes on to
say,"food donations to Cuba
individuals or non
governmental organizations have
been deregulated".
The Congress of the United
States has passed a resolution
urging President Clinton, "not to
restrict travelers from visiting the
communist island for
informational,
aducational,religious or
humanitarian reasons";
The Los Angeles Times reported
that 120,000 Americans visited
Cuba last year, many delivering
foods and medicines. While they
are in Cuba, they go to the
beach, night clubs, sight
seeing, visit friends or relatives,
or practically anything else they
want to do. Most stay for a
week and spend approximately
$1400 for their trip.
The only difference in what these
thousands do and what we do, is
that we spend our spare time
diving, and we pay about $1700
for a week in Cuba.
At last our government has given
us the opportunity to visit Cuba
and help the Cuban people.
There are "no restrictions" on
what you can do while you are
there.
The Cuban people are among
the nicest in the world, let's
