Carp Island Resort is one of the nearly 500 limestone islands dotting the 325-mile long Palau archipelago. The island is a forty-five minute boat ride through the southern lagoon.
Carp Island Resort has its own dive boat leaving Koror everyday at 8:00 in the morning and leaving Carp Island Resort at 3:00 in the afternoon. Since there is only one trip going everyday, guests are advised to get a hotel in Koror prior to arrival and departure in order to catch the daily trip schedules.
Fascinating Palau can be reached through a major carrier, Continental Airlines by way of Guam and Philippines.
If you are visiting from Australia, travel from any major city to Cairns, to catch twice-daily Continental Airlines’ flights between Cairns and Guam, connecting to Palau. You can also fly through major carriers to Manila which connects with Continental Airlines’ twice-weekly flights to Palau.
From Europe, you can travel with most major carriers to Manila, Philippines, then connect with the Continental Airlines’ twice-weekly service to Palau. China Airlines is also flying from Europe to Koror via Taipei, Taiwan.
Most major cities in Japan fly to Guam via Continental Airlines, Northwest Airlines or Japan Airlines, then connect with Continental Airlines’ daily service to Palau. Japan Airlines has direct charter flights between Tokyo and other cities in Japan to Palau. It’s also possible to fly to Taipei, Taiwan with major carriers and connect with China Airlines to Palau.
From Manila, Philippines, Continental Airlines offers services twice per week to Palau.
In the North America, Continental Airlines is the major carrier. From the west coast of the United States to Honolulu, Hawaii is a quick five hours flight. It would then take seven hours from Hawaii to Guam, and then the flights between Guam and Palau are less than two hours. Continental Airlines also services direct flights between Newark and Honolulu. To transit through Asia, you can fly to Japan, Guam and then Palau. Fly from the west coast US to HongKong, Guam and then Palau, or fly to Taipei, Taiwan and connect to twice-weekly charter flights to Palau.
Between Taipei, Taiwan and Palau, China Airlines has regular flights.
Cottages
Carp Island Resort is an ideal hideaway with cottages built on traditional design for divers and eco-conscious customers. All the cottages are sea view.
The Seaside Cottages are the first cottages built in Carp Island Resort. Few years after, four Sunrise cottages were constructed, and then the Dive House. It was followed by the fifth Sunrise Cottage and the Sunrise Suite. The Seaside Deluxe was the last building being built.
Another new spacious bungalow in front of the beach is on the process of construction and soon to be open.
Air conditioning facilities are not available due to the power source that comes from the generator, yet rooms are equipped with 110 volt outlets. Ceiling fans or stand fans in every room is provided, and our guests always have the pleasure to feel the fresh sea breeze.
Seaside Cottages
Carp Island Resort’s Seaside Cottages were the first and oldest among other cottages, with a sliding glass door that opens to the panoramic view of the ocean. An ideal cottage for a family, situated just few steps away from the beach.
Seaside Deluxe Cottages
A single bungalow, neatly built with glass doors and windows, our Seaside Deluxe are facing the beach. They are available for single, double and triple occupancy with private toilet and shower rooms.
Sunrise Cottages
Formerly called the New Cottage. Handmade bungalow-type cottages ideal with private shower and toilet rooms. The bungalows face the direction of the sunrise and are overlooking the ocean.
Suites
The Suite is a duplex bungalow with a veranda at the front overlooking the ocean and a balcony at the back side for a view of the garden. The wide glass windows and door provide occupants a view of nature.
Dive House
Ten convenient rooms for divers, seven of which have two single beds and three have double-decked beds for group divers. Occupants may use the communal toilet and shower rooms adjacent to the building.
Food
Meals at Carp Island Resort are served at the restaurant that overlooks the beach. Fresh fish, sashimi, fruits, and organic vegetables picked from our very own garden can be savored.
A barbecue dinner can be enjoyed every Sunday night, and a choice of local wine is available at the mini mart inside the restaurant.
Breakfast and dinner are served buffet style while lunch is served in a set menu. For guests with a dietary requirement, just inform our staff upon check in. We also serve special dinner of lobster and crab through an advance request. A special dinner for couples is set at a romantic ambience beside the beach, with a dim light upon sunset.
A recreation corner is found on the other corner of the restaurant. Guests can enjoy a game of local billiard and table tennis with no extra charge, and a book shelf is open for everybody.
Our restaurant can accommodate as much as 50 people. Our kitchen staff can cater to special occasions such as wedding receptions, birthday parties or conventions. An advance reservation is required to give them an ample time for preparation.
Every guest is welcome to a free self-service hot coffee and tea available during restaurant hours.
Scuba Diving
Palau has a rainbow of colors. You’ll never see so many blues than from our dive boats. With more than 1,400 species of reef fishes and about 600 species of hard and soft corals, Palau has one of the highest diversities of marine life in the world.
Carp Island Resort is just 10 minutes away from Palau’s famous dive sites, the Blue Corner, Blue Holes, and beautiful drop-offs.

Information & Rates
Palau has only one International Airport which is a thirty-minute drive to Carp Island Resort Booking Office in Koror. For roundtrip airport transportation, it can be arranged with a nominal fee (10$ per pax per way). As flights from major carriers mainly arrive in the afternoon or evening, Carp offers free hotel pick-up.
Boat transfer departs daily between 7:30 to 8:00 in the morning from Koror for a forty-five minute ride to Carp Island Resort. Return transport to Koror departs from Carp Island at approximately 3:00 -4:00 in the afternoon, depending on tide, weather condition and diving activities. Nominal fee: 25$ per pax per way
