Mimpi Indah resort is a boutique style Eco dive resort located on the Island Bangka, just off the coast of the most Northern tip of Sulawesi, Indonesia. This is the ideal location for people who want to dive one of the most beautiful locations on the earth.
We are a PADI dive resort and offer the full range of PADI courses; from Open Water Diver up to Dive Master, and even some specialties!

Ulva & Owen
The Owners
The resort is owned and managed by Ulva and Owen Tap.
Ulva is Indonesian and is originally coming from Toraja. Her Toraja heritage has greatly influenced the style of buildings from the resort.
Ulva is a PADI Assistent Instructor.
Owen is originally from the Netherlands and tries to bring in some Dutch influence in the resort.
Owen is a PADI Instructor.
Together they have a beautiful daughter named Ocean.
Wondering what Mimpi Indah means? It's Indonesian for Beautiful Dream and we choose that name because we are now living our 'Beautiful Dream'!
The resort
Mimpi Indah resort is nestled between numerous coconut trees and has its own 500 meter long beautiful beach. In front of this beach is great snorkelling and diving.
The resort is build ecologically friendly, with sustainable building materials such as bamboo and coconut wood.
Location
Location of Mimpi Indah resort
Mimpi Indah resort is located on Bangka Island, which is an island of approximately 700 hectare big and located just off the coast of the most Northern tip of Sulawesi.
When you follow the coast of North Sulawesi then Bangka Island is just about half way between Bunaken and Lembeh Strait, two well known places. Bunaken is known around the world because of it’s national marine park and Lembeh Strait is also known as the muck diving capital of the world.
Mimpi Indah resort choose Bangka Island as it’s location because both Bunaken and Lembeh Strait can easily be reached; each within one to one and a half hours by boat.
Getting there
Getting to Mimpi Indah resort
There are several options to get to Mimpi Indah resort in North Sulawesi, but the easiest is to get there by plane.
Manado has an international airport with numerous direct flights from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Davos (in the Philippines). Furthermore there are daily flights to just about any place in Indonesia, e.g. Jakarta and Denpasar (Bali).
Once at the airport we have an airport service to pick you up. This means we pick you up by car and drive you to the jetty from where we continue by boat.
From the airport to the resort takes approximately 1,5 hours.
The bungalows
Staying at Mimpi Indah resort means a stay in one of our spacious bungalows with big veranda.
All bungalows are built close to the sea and offer a wonderful ocean view.
Each bungalow has a bathroom with shower, sink, and (European style) toilet. You can stay in a 2 person, or 4 person bungalow, and have the choice of single or double beds. These beds all have a mosquito net.
The Restaurant
Our restaurant is more than just a place to eat. It’s also a place to relax, have a drink, or talk about all the wonderful things you saw that day. And if you like to watch a movie, like we do, then you can do that as well.
We regularly transform the restaurant into our own personal cinema. The building itself is build in Toraja style, using bamboo. Furthermore there is a separate beach side terrace. But of course the main function of the restaurant is to give you delicious meals.
We serve a combination of traditional Indonesian and European dishes, which are prepared with ingredients from our organic garden. And if you like to have something special, why not have a barbeque out on the terrace…
The Garden
Mimpi Indah resort is built on more then five hectares of land. The beach side is where you find all the bungalows, the restaurant, and the dive center. More towards the back you’ll find our beautiful tropical garden.
In the garden you can see lots of different kinds of fruit trees, such as coconut trees, banana trees, mango trees, etcetera. But we also have an organic garden where we grow most of the ingredients for our delicious meals.
Last but not least you’ll find numerous kinds of bamboo and tropical trees and flowers throughout the resort.
