| Dive with a difference - coral restoration in Les Village, Bali
DiVo's expanding out of Australia now, and this is a pretty apt juncture to go live with the newsletter, since the reader base is as international as it is Australian.
The inauagural story is a heartwarming one about fisherfolk in a small village in Les, Bali, who replaced cyanide fishing with sustainable fishing. I call this project the Human Laboratory because it is a real-time, ongoing project to change and upgrade people's livelihoods. We're rebuilding the reefs, restoring fish, moving the villagers up the livelihood ladder by bringing dive voluntourists, teaching them English, dive guiding and hospitality. read about this: http://www.divevoluntourism.com/les-village-bali-rehabilitation-reef-and-livelihoods.

The Les Village voluntourism progamme goes live soon second half of 2012. Watch this space, or contact DiVo through the Contact Us tab if you want more information on trips to Les.
