Gene Muchanski joins Marketing Team at American Underwater Products

Gene Muchanski has joined the Marketing Team at American Underwater Products, parent company to Aeris, Oceanic and Hollis. Gene will be responsible for planning and executing marketing activities for the AUP companies including tradeshows, promotions, seminars, webinars, company newsletters, communications and Dealer training and clinics. Muchanski's duties will include developing a communication strategy for AUP's Domestic and International Network of Companies, Affiliates, Distributors, Sales Force, Dealers and Staff. Dan Emke, Aeris / Oceanic President & C.O.O. commented, "I am very happy to announce that Gene Muchanski has accepted a much-expanded position with our companies...Gene will be providing information and content extremely important to many aspects of our business. Gene's background in the industry is extensive and spans over 40 years. From Navy Mixed-Gas, Deep Sea Diver & Diving Supervisor to University Scuba Instructor, Gene became NAUI's first Marketing Director, Executive Director of the Association of Diving Retailers, National Sales Manager for Action Plus Wetsuits and Product Manager at U.S. Divers. Gene was the Owner-Operator of Undersea Showcase, a California based Retail Dive Center and Undersea Designs, a wet suit manufacturing company.

Gene is a Business Consultant to the dive industry and has worked with hundreds of clients through the Dive Industry Association and the Association of Small Business Development Centers. He currently teaches business and marketing planning at the University of Houston's Small Business Development Center.

Gene is on the Board of Directors of the Dive Industry Association, Inc., a Marketing and Trade Association that works with small business entrepreneurs who specialize in scuba diving and associated water sports and the Dive Industry Foundation, a non-profit 501c3 organization that is "Promoting Economic Development in the Watersports Community."
