I hope you have been busy diving this past summer. I know I have had some great dives and now that Fall is here, it is time for me to focus on the 2012 Our World-Underwater Dive & Travel Expo. The Expo is set for February 17 - 19, 2012 at the Donald E. Stephans Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois.
Early-Early Bird Ticket Sales Closed
Due to unexpected high demand we have closed the Early-Early Bird Ticket Special. As of today, we are no longer offering the Divers Alert Network Hazardous Marine Life Injury (DAN HMLI) course with our Early Bird Tickets. This incentive was paid for by Our World-Underwater and a deal with DAN. We hope that those who have taken advantage of this offer enjoy the program. More details will follow but the course will be held on Saturday February 18th.
For you who have not purchased tickets yet, You Can Still Buy our standard Early Bird Ticket Packages, which include: a 3-Day Exhibit Hall Pass, Entry into our Friday & Saturday Film Festivals and all Seminars and 2012 Commemorative T-Shirt through October 31, 2011.
Seminars: Medical Room Returns for 2012
Early this year, in a previous email, I asked you attendees what you wanted at the 2012 Show. I received a lot of requests for having the Medical Seminar Room return. Combining that, with the fact that the Medical Room was Standing Room Only throughout the 2011 Show, I contacted DAN. After working out some details with them, I am proud to say that the Medical Seminar Room will be back for 2012 and even better than 2011.
Our World-Underwater 2012 Achievement Award
Each year OW-U selects an individual who throughout their life has contributed to all of ours enjoyment of the underwater world. This year OW-U has selected an individual who exemplifies subsea exploration. He has logged thousands of hours underwater world-wide as a commercial diver, and as a developer of underwater equipment and techniques. He is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the modern commercial diving industry and a significant force in the creation of new technology. OW-U is proud to announce Phil Nuytten as the recipient of the 2012 OW-U Achievement Award.
OW-U each year also honors an individual has has contributed to diving in the Midwest. Stay tuned for our announcement of the 2012 Middle Coast Award recipient.
