Every year for a quarter of a century, the industry has gathered at the DEMA Show to see into the future. Buyers from all over the world come to experience the latest technology, test amazing new products, discover the newest buying trends and find the keys to business success.

DEMA, as the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association, was formed to encompass the entire diving industry: manufacturers, retailers, publications/media, travel, resorts, education and certification agencies, and government and non-government tourism organizations. In addition to representing all industry stakeholder groups, DEMA is a truly global organization as evidenced by the DEMA multi-national Dive Business Seminars, the Asia Pacific Advisory Committee, the DEMA Europe office in Brussels and our European Advisory Committee.

Now in its 25th year, the industry's premier trade exhibition of scuba diving, adventure dive travel and aquatic recreation products and services From bustling booth traffic to soaring sales, from major media coverage to priceless pool demonstrations, DEMA Show 2001 in New Orleans proved to be an incredible success. Featuring innovative products and services from more 800 exhibitors representing 121 countries from all corners of the globe, the special 25th Anniversary Show drew 12,568 attendees, illustrating tremendous industry growth and enthusiasm, according to Regina Franklin, executive director, the Diving Equipment and Marketing Association (DEMA).

"DEMA Show 2001 met and exceeded all of our expectations, proving that scuba diving is truly making its mark on the adventure sports industry," said Franklin. "Spearheaded by rapid growth and some of the most advanced technology in the world, DEMA Show 2001 successfully charted a course for a prosperous future for our industry."
